MINIATURA supports individuals who have not previously had experience in managing research projects, helping them take their first steps within the grant system. Successful applicants can receive between PLN 5,000 and 50,000 for research activities carried out in the form of preliminary studies, library and archive searches or research visits lasting up to 12 months.

The National Science Centre (NCN) has announced the MINIATURA 10 call for proposals. The call budget is PLN 20 million. 

The deadline for submitting the applications is 31 July 2026, 2pm. To apply at AGH University, register in the eCOP system by 24 July 2026.

To be eligible to carry out a MINIATURA grant, you must be a researcher employed at a Polish research institution and have obtained your doctoral degree between 1 January 2014 and the date of application (the eligibility period for the competition may be extended in certain cases). In addition, you must have at least one work published or accepted for publication, or at least one artistic or artistic-scientific work or achievement to your credit.

The primary aim of this research activity is to develop the framework for a full-scale research project, for which funding can subsequently be sought through calls for proposals by the National Science Centre, as well as through other national or international grant schemes. You may seek support of an NCN mentor, i.e. a researcher with experience in carrying out NCN research projects or European Research Council (ERC) grants.

The evaluation of applications is a single-stage process carried out by a panel of experts selected by the NCN Council from among distinguished researchers holding at least a doctoral degree. The results will be announced within six months of the application submission date.

The funding available for the call is divided proportionally according to the number of months the call is open. Funding will be awarded to those applications that receive high scores from the experts and fall within the funding pool allocated for a given month.
