I-MAT – Innovative Mobility Attracting Tools for Latin America

I-MAT

Since January 2023, Técnico Lisboa’s Mobility and International Cooperation Office assumes the coordination of a project co-funded by the European Union through Key Action 2 of the Erasmus+ Programme within the scope of Capacity Building in Higher Education – I-MAT (Innovative Mobility Attracting Tools for Latin America).

This project focuses on sharing good internationalisation practices between European and Latin American higher education institutions through a digital and innovative approach. With a duration of three years, it will result in closer collaboration between the institutions of the consortium, which, at European level, are Técnico Lisboa (Portugal), Vilnius Tech (Lithuania) and AGH University of Science and Technology (Poland).

The Consortium brings together European institutions—the University of Lisbon (Técnico Lisboa) as project coordinator, AGH University, and Vilnius Tech—alongside key Latin American partners:

The kick-off meeting took place on March 1–3 at the University of Lisbon. Since then, the Consortium has been advancing its work through dedicated working groups focused on developing surveys, publications, workshops, and international training sessions. These initiatives aim to foster internationalisation among staff across participating institutions and share best practices to boost international mobility among students, academic staff, and administrative personnel.

The Faculty of Energy and Fuels at AGH (AGH WEiP) serves as the lead coordinator for the development of the "I-MOB" Mobility Interactive App, designed to streamline international mobility for students, teaching staff, and technical-administrative staff alike.

The AGH project team comprises Ewa Figórska, MA, Arkadiusz Figórski, MA, and Dr. Eng. Bogdan Samojeden (Project Leader).
